Thomas Cook Holidays Ireland has launched its new Weddings programme and brochure for Irish couples who wish to tie the knot in a range of venues around the world
Thomas Cook Holidays Ireland has launched its new Weddings programme and brochure for Irish couples who wish to tie the knot in a range of venues around the world. Alongside classic weddings in traditional settings such as Rome, couples can choose from an array of alternative ideas, from skydiving in Portugal to a ceremony on a Caribbean island.
Each Thomas Cook wedding is treated individually, with a dedicated wedding co-ordinator on hand to guide couples through the planning stage. The wedding coordinator then works with the relevant travel partners at home and abroad to ensure that every wish is granted in precisely the way the prospective bride and groom have specified.
The company can organise full religious services, simple civil ceremonies, renewal-of-vows services and gay civil partnerships in a variety of settings and cities around the world, from Edinburgh to New York.
Couples can also choose from more unusual ideas, like a traditional Celtic Blessing in Ireland, skydiving in Portugal, a cruise ship wedding and a ceremony ‘under a canopy of a million stars’ in Las Vegas.
Weddings is part of an extensive Thomas Cook Ireland portfolio, which includes the Panorama and Sunworld holiday brands. Thomas Cook itself is one of the most experienced travel companies in the world, and avails of travel partners who can add their expertise and value to any wedding concept. In addition to a range of featured wedding destinations and programmes, the company can also quote for alternative ideas and venues.
As the new Thomas Cook Weddings brochure testifies, a stylish wedding abroad need not cost the earth. A week in Cyprus for example, including a 4-star hotel, flights, transfers, decorated venue hire, consulate fees, minister and wedding licence costs less than €3,750. Adding a wedding cake, bridal bouquet, buttonhole, music, a stylish horse and carriage and a three-course meal for 10 friends costs a further €1,175 euro.
“That’s less than €5,000 for an intimate wedding party in the most beautiful of settings,” comments Brian Nevin of Thomas Cook Holidays Ireland. “The fact is that weddings in Ireland are expensive, and in these times many people are keen to capitalise on the value they find on their summer holiday, and avail of it for their big day.”
“At the same time, having an expert on hand, who is familiar with local customs and legal requirements, is critical to ensuring the day passes off as it should.”
Destinations include Lanzarote, Venice, Sorrento, Florida, Jamaica, Antigua, St Lucia and Barbados. In many packages all drinks are included in the price.
The Thomas Cook Weddings brochure, which includes helpful hints on wedding planning as well as comprehensive price lists for all types of weddings, is available from travel agents or by calling the Weddings team on 0818 200 101.
